[Epic Games] Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel (Free/100%)
Personally I use legendary which is basically just a super-lightweight commandline launcher that also handles stuff like setting up wine if running on linux. But if you don't want quite that bare-bones, there's also a couple of GUI wrappers: rare is a fairly lightweight native app that feels pretty snappy, though it can be a bit unpolished in places, and heroic, which is an electron app and so a bit more heavyweight. but more of a direct drop-in replacement.

Mullvad in GTA Online
There's also a 3rd-party Epic client Legendary which has a couple of GUIs like Rare and Heroic, which may work differently with mullvad's split-tunnel.

An Epic Failure (Epic Games Launcher issues from my perspective)
Legendary, Rare and Heroic are good alternatives.

Just gonna leave this here
Also if you don't want to use cmd commands you can find some tools that give you a simple interface, I made one for windows and there is another one called rare that supports windows and linux.

An actual fix for the insanely slow download/update speeds of Epic Games Launcher (Re-uploaded)
Alternatively, you can use another launcher. This is what I do and have zero download issues. https://github.com/derrod/legendary https://github.com/Heroic-Games-Launcher/HeroicGamesLauncher https://github.com/Dummerle/Rare

How to run the Epic version of "Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition"?

Easy Anti-Cheat not as simple as expected for Proton and Steam Deck
Ah, yeah the software and software support is miles better. Epic Games Store is frankly poorly made software. I thus recommend everyone who wishes to run it to instead run Heroic or Rare instead, regardless of OS.

Tags no longer register and i've finally had it with galaxy 2.0. Any recommended alternatives?
Heroic Games Launcher: Support is limited to Epic, GOG and Amazon but the advantage is that it can manage their games itself without the need of their own launchers. Doesn't have support for tags currently.

Making the switch - what are the gaps?
For "normal" games you could look yourself using ProtonDB regarding every game released on Steam and AreWeAntiCheatYet for most multiplayer games. If a game isn't available on Steam you have three possibilities. First if it's available on GOG, Epic Games or Amazon Gaming, you could use the Heroic Games Launcher. Second you could try to run the launchers through Steam itself using once again Proton. Third you could try installing it with a script or tutorial in Lutris or Bottles.

According to a survey, only 36% of PC gamers buy games at full price.
I use https://heroicgameslauncher.com/ instead

Are there any major sacrifices you make to play on Linux over Windows?
ProtonDB is a community list of Steam games rating their playability. Heroic launcher runs GOG and Epic games. Lutris and Bottles can be used to run everything else.
