RaceControl VS F1-Web-Viewer

If you're using older 3rdparty clients like Race Control or f1viewer, then the stream has double the bitrate than with /r/F1MultiViewer or the official app (both show the video bitrate through debug menu). You can also easily verify this for archived races by downloading the stream segments with your preferred browser and decrypting the non widevine protected video with the key from the m8u3 file.

Iirc RaceControl allows you to download older races where DRM has been removed.

Or watch on a PC. Some helpful redditor made and shared RaceControl, it's great if you have a large screen or multiple screens. I usually have the broadcast running on my primary screen and telemetry+some driver cams on secondary. It can also sync streams (or at least tries its best).

makes me miss RaceControl, i would fit 6 feeds on my 21:9 screen and perfectly sync them live and for replays too.

Race Control is one of the previously popular 3rdparty clients for f1tv, but like f1viewer, they rely on external players that don't support streaming with widevine DRM.

This ia one of the reasons many people on /r/F1TV suggest /r/F1MultiViewer and previously other 3rdparty viewers like Race Control and F1Viewer, before they introduced DRM to the live streams this year in April.

At some races I feel like things might get interesting I simply use F1 Race Control anyway with F1 TV and just put up the world feed with a bunch of other feeds right next to it. Couple of onboards for example to keep track of some fighting going on.

You can use apps on Android, Amazon & Apple devices (some android TV's don't support it natively, i.e. Sony - where you have to manually side load it) - up to 6 of them at the same time. You can use the webpage at https://f1tv.formula1.com/ to stream in parallel. You can use third party clients like /r/F1MultiViewer/ to see as many streams as your home network can handle. Same is applicable for greasemonkey scripts of F1TV+ or the self hosted F1WebViewer proxy. Their ToS limits it to 6 devices, but it only counts app installs - they're not enforcing the same single stream limit on the webpage or through 3rd party apps on multiple devices. They have both "F1 Live" and "International" feed with various audio channels available (Sky Germany, Canal+ for French, Dazn for Spanish and Sky UK for english). The monthly is easier to cancel/renew when necessary - this year it should be possible to get the monthly cheaper than the yearly fee and see all races, if you tactically subscribe/unsubscribe - as both subscriptions are not for the "season" bot for 30 days / 12 months.

Otherwise you can use web proxy like F1 Web Viewer for multiple streams or the F1TV+ tampermonkey script, as Browsers support widevine DRM used by F1TV.

F1 Web Viewer

F1TV changed the live streams. Race Control and F1Viewer were able to update before the last race, but the F1WebViewer dev acknowledged the issue but said he couldn't fix it before the race. He said he'll work on it. Hopefully it'll be fixed by the next. Here's the bug tracker

I got it today and found its pretty cool. I came across https://f1webviewer.netlify.app/ Multi stream with drag drop functionality and easy stream sync function.

Also I can login to https://f1webviewer.netlify.app/ but it is not able to show any stream.
