So I tried using WOWS using Ubuntu 22.04 using wine 8.0.1 and it is pausing on logging in and crashing, plz help.
Try installing it through Steam instead of using Wine directly. Mine is currently set to "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool" and GE-Proton7-41, so try installing that one if none of the Proton versions that come with the Steam client works. Installing a custom version of Proton is fairly simple if you know the command line, basically just unpack it into the right folder. But if you prefer graphical tools you can use ProtonUp-Qt instead.

Grezzo 2 on Steam Deck?
Bit late but luxtorpeda has gzdoom as an option along with qzdl for launching with mods. You just gotta install protonup-qt from the discover store in desktop mode. A quick YouTube/Google search can show you how but that's the rough gist of it.

How to manage Wine/Proton Version
Didn't take time to read. Use ProtonUp-Qt

PTCGL on steam deck
Using the proton-ge fork itโs been working like a charm (except quitting for some reason, but I can use the deck UI to force it to exit). Upstream proton is missing some patch regarding shared resources (or something like that) that is necessary for the login screen. I installed proton-ge using ProtonUp-Qt.

"Linux run nothing" they said
It looks that was at first, but it really isn't. I recommend trying out the ProtonUp-Qt tool to manage Wine-GE and DXVK versions. It also downloads and installs Proton-GE versions for Steam. It does a lot of management leg work for you, highly recommended. A good thing about Lutris is that it can be configured to launch everything. For example if you have some older Windows games that only come as a folder with files and an .EXE in it, it can be configured to launch that with whichever Wine version you want. So it can become your "personal launcher" for everything. I even use to to launch some non-gaming programs. And for bigger non-Steam games, Lutris usually has scripts that take care of the installation and configuration completely.

PopOS 22.04: Insurgency Sandstorm Does Not Launch
Protonup - a handy thing you can use to add Proton GE onto steam. When you have added protonGE with protonup - restart steam and right click on the game you want to use protonGE on and select compatibility layer and choose your newly added protonGE.ProtonGE is Proton with patches that GloriousEggroll got together. Since it's not made by Valve you need to add it manually hence using proton up for easy adding, otherwise you need to go to his Github and download it then navigate to ~/.steam/root/ and make a compatibilitytools.d folder then unzip the tarball into that folder, so just use proton up it's easier.

Nice ๐
If you decide to stay on Fedora, then I can recommend you to enable the mesa-git Copr & just use Proton-GE. You can install it easily with ProtonUp-Qt.

- KDE/wayland
> That said, these things work flawlessly on the Deck.
Likely due to running into these graphics driver -> WM and similar compatibility issues and fixing them. The other performance improvements from kernel changes probably don't hurt either.

Space Engineers crashing when I try to join an online game
What steps have you taken to try and fix the issue?. for example, have you looked through the protondb page for SpaceEngineers or tried different proton versions (or protonGE), you could also read through the proton issue tracker for SpaceEngineers to see if there are any other users with multiplayer issues

FSR is back with the latest GE Wine/Proton release: https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases
This is big, at least for some of us. I honestly stopped at the last FSR enabled GE, which was around GE-Proton7-55, and planned to stay there for as long as possible. Don't know who Ph42oN is, but deserves tons of respect for make it again possible. Yes, gamescope was/is another way, but I very much prefer this one. https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases/tag/GE-Proton8-7 https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/wine-ge-custom/releases/tag/GE-Proton8-11

KDE Plasma 6 Has Reached The Point Of Being "Fairly Livable"
For GloriousEggRoll, it's normal that it isn't in your repo, you need to download it and extract it to ~/.steam/root/compatibilitytools.d (make the folder if it doesn't exist, assuming you use Steam naively and not the flatpak but there's an unofficial flatpak installer), then restart Steam.

Running a game .exe made with Unity under Ubuntu
Honestly the simplest way to do it. Install steam, under Games > Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library, find the exe and add it. This will add it to your steam library, then you can configure the game and select proton version after that just run the game from steam and it will setup proton for you. If it doesn't work, try switching to proton experimental or even installing proton-ge
