One of the mods included are procedural parts. This is how I make the tanks for the huge vehicles for instance. They are parts that can be changed in height, diameter, shape, etc. I don't know if it works from stock, but I use it in RO from here.

Problem with B9 Procedural Parts
Oh, i'm sorry. It's not B9's. I got confused with the author. https://github.com/KSP-RO/ProceduralParts. Here's the link. And also i couldn't find version for 1.8.1, so instead i got it for 1.7. It works fine on the "stock" ksp

That style of procedural tank originated in SSTU. Unfortunately, SSTU hasn’t been updated since a pre-release for KSP 1.8, but that old code might be the easiest starting point if an enterprising programmer wants to get these tanks back into stock KSP.
