Similar priced NanoPi R4S alternatives?
Make sure you buy the 4GB version if you want better support for openwrt. I have the 1GB and had to compile my own version using https://github.com/anaelorlinski/OpenWrt-NanoPi-R2S-R4S-Builds

Just got fiber and looking for a new router that will offer best gigabit WiFi speeds and support for openWRT. I am a noob at both fiber and openWRT.
a nanopi r2s, or even better the r4s (does wonders with the right build)

NanoPI R2S WAN performance
Now here's the kicker. Looks like vanilla openwrt only clocks the chip to ~1Ghz or thereabouts. I've installed this modified fork https://github.com/quintus-lab/openwrt-rockchip

Anyways, please, don't stick with the official openwrt build, nor the friendlywrt proprietary build. Use this firmware instead which has specific performance adjustments and patches.
