Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

ESP8266 Adventures
To manually configure the network and MQTT I added the following to User_config.h:
What I didn't know is that the ESP8266 is not just a Wifi module, it can be programmed and even run a web server inside. Of course there was a community leveraging this for IOT, and they led me to OpenMQTTGateway. This project collects various signals and sensor from IOT devices and sends it to a queue to be used by HomeAutomation services such as Home Assistant. Given my astonishment of the capacity of this module of course I didn't have any tools that would make my life easier in programming it.

Are there any self-hostable smart home platforms that are compatible with SmartLife/Tuya and hardware buttons?
Once you've got a bridge, you'll need to flash it with alternative firmware, and set up an MQTT broker. Home assistant has a broker addon that you can install which will simplify this process. There is a detailed guide here which pretty much leads you all the way to a working setup: https://docs.openmqttgateway.com/.

room-assistant v2.13 - track room presence of iOS devices using BLE
Dumb question here, can I use room-assistant together with other ble receiving software (like this) so that in the same box I can do both presence detection and monitor a ble thermometer? Or would the two apps ‘fight’ for Bluetooth chip time?
