    The instructions on seem fairly straightforward, so I could update. But dealing with this library is not something I remember ever doing explicitly and is not mentioned (explicitly, at least) in the instructions have followed lately for (re)installing XMonad via stack (e.g.,, or In fact, for Debian systems all that is suggested is an apt install of several packages. So I'd rather not try this experiment on my own right now since, in the past, I've sometimes been left with a mess that took me a while to get out from.

    Looks like your xmonad (or, more specifically, is built without xinerama. Check if you have libxinerama-dev and then make sure X11 and xmonad are rebuilt.
