Httrack usage
If you want to download an entire open directory, an easier way is indexing it with https://github.com/KoalaBear84/OpenDirectoryDownloader and using the URLs file output which can be used in another download tool.

And it's what I use to search for torrents.
I would never trust a site without an adblocker and keep uBlock active in Private Mode.
But with all this, you need to know what you're searching for, browsing for content is another story
