I’m just starting out bitcoin mining, what’s the best setup I can use on my laptop, I have a picture with the specs, I wanna run it 8 hours a day to avoid over heating and I’ll keep it elevated as well, does anyone have any tips, I’ll only be using the laptop until I can afford a professional setup

Applying Memory Custom Timings in NHQM

I've struggled to get "Memory Custom Timings" in OCTune in NHQM (v0.6.0.1) to work on 1080s to replicate the Ethlargementpill. Per https://github.com/nicehash/NiceHashQuickMiner/wiki/Memory-timings, I tried entering "FAW=16","RRD=4" in the Memory Custom Timings "Set custom" box and then "Apply to All". No matter what I did, nothing seemed to happen, and the 1080s kept mining at ~22mhs.

But I figured in the mean time it would not hurt to ask the PopOS Reddit community if there is any other way to solve this problem. This driver problem is so new I could only find one post about this issue. But I assumed from the post OP was using Ubuntu to only mine with, so if they nuked their system trying to downgrade the drivers there be no loss because that was not their daily computer. I use my system as my daily computer (video games and web browsing) and mine in the background (popOS is super stable when it comes to doing both). Here is a link to the post
