Regarding recent posts about AI voice generation
Free open-source AI voice cloning tools have existed for years (albeit not as good as elevenlabs) https://github.com/CorentinJ/Real-Time-Voice-Cloning but as you said, they'll get better (and I take your overall point).
I know this isn't the bulk of your argument, but if the concern is uploading, offline voice cloners have existed for years (albeit not as good as elevenlabs) but will presumably get far better in the years to come now that everyone has seen what's possible and as PC compute power continues to improve. https://github.com/CorentinJ/Real-Time-Voice-Cloning

My sister has ALS and has lost her voice. Is there an open tool I can use to recreate it for her?
I'm trying CorentinJ next. Other than elevenlabs that's the one I've heard good things about the most.
- VALL-E X (Microsoft) - Auto-translate and Speak Foreign languages in your own voice
- Is there any competitor for elevenlabs as of right now?

So, has someone made an open-source version of ElevenLabs yet?
I'm also just googling around for this and found this one: https://github.com/CorentinJ/Real-Time-Voice-Cloning - have a look at the youtube video in there. https://github.com/coqui-ai/TTS is also worth looking into maybe.
