GTX 1060m passthrough, advice?
i use this one btw:https://github.com/T-vK/MobilePassThrough/tree/3e35715cd06ae8f6f6c51f3ed58da892e67ec193 to install bumblebee + nvidia
this script: https://github.com/T-vK/MobilePassThrough is the way i used for testing if GPU passthrough, works on my laptop its has an i7-4820hq in it and a 970m card. My card is non UEFI supported and i think without mod i can boot to a VM with OVMF, so i am passing it through with bios without a .rom file, mb it works for you too. This only works on fedora and if ur laptop is optimus also install bumblebee and nvidia ppa drivers. so far in terms of performance not much sucess it boots ok and it binds and unbinds gpu automatically.

I wrote a guide on how to completely turn off your laptop's Nvidia GPU on Linux using ACPI calls
I also get 7-8 W on my laptop and I use bbswitch with the nvidia drivers. I have made some shell scripts specifically for this: https://github.com/threadexio/custom-optimus
What are some alternatives?
optimus-vfio-docs - Optimus (Non-MXM/Muxless/"3D Controller") passthrough testing notes
asus-g14-fedora - Make things work with the ASUS Zephyrus G14 2020 on Fedora 35 including GPU Switching and automatic power management. Such wow!

nvidia-gpu-off - The definitive guide to completely turn off your Nvidia dedicated GPU on Optimus laptops running Linux
vfio - A script for easy pci and usb passthrough along with disks, iso's and other useful flags for quick tinkering with less of a headache. I use it for VM gaming and other PCI/LiveCD/PXE/VM/RawImage testing given the script's accessibility.
