Why does my z offset keep changing?
Once you tram the bed, are you doing a mesh? I use UBL (Unified Bed Leveling) to do a 15x15 mesh that takes approximately 225 points of readings. If you are using Jyers firmware, which I highly recommend) or Professional firmware by mriscoc, both rimwares based on Marlin but are more rich in features than the base Marlin firmware, you can view the mesh on your display and see where the high/low spots are. The mesh can be saved to your EEPROM and used without having to redo the leveling process all the time. This is, of course, providing that your bed is not shifting and you wait for the bed to cool down before removing the prints so it doesn't mesh of the leveling. I am not sure about the Professional firmware (because I don't use that one) but I do know the Jyers firmware has a bunch of precompiled .bin files for all the boards and for many different configurations.

Thermal Runaway/Uncontrollable Speed Bug on New Printer
Do not use Creality's stock firmware. Its out of date, neutered and there is no source code available for making changes (which goes against Marlin's GPLv3.0 license that requires "organizations and individuals share their source code when modifying or expanding the code"). If you want a better pre-compiled Marlin firmware try the professional firmware or Jyer's Firmware. If you purchase a raspberry pi or have one lying around and want to push your printer to its limits give Klipper a try. It has an awesome feature called "input shaping" which lets you substantially increase print speed without the loss of print quality due to ringing/ghosting.

Jyers v 1.3.5 doesn't print and keeps on purging filament
Yes. It is very similar to Jyer's in terms of features https://github.com/mriscoc/Marlin_Ender3v2/releases/tag/20211009

About to give up on Klipper
https://github.com/mriscoc/Marlin_Ender3v2/releases has a very interesting view on Marlin for the Ender series, if that's your jam.

Why Prusa is floundering, and how you can avoid their fate
There is _a lot_ wrong with Marlin. It is a complex codebase, full with ancient artefacts, litterred with preprocessor ifdefs every 2-3 lines of code, dynamic includes in the middle of CPP files, etc[1]. It's about as unreadable as C++ code gets--well, I guess it's not template metaprogramming.
Klipper by contrast is a breeze to read through[2].
I am very grateful for Marlin, for all of reprap, and everyone who has contributed to it. But saying there is nothing wrong with it is straight up misguided.

Ender 6 + Micro Swiss NG - please share slicer settings with me!
You mention you're OK with tweaking and just need a baseline config, so is there something wrong with the official Ender 6 config from the Klipper github ?

Whatever happened to extended tmc commands
I have no clue about these specific TMC settings and/or the TMC5160s, but it looks like the PR was never finished, only partially without much testing. Also, for people not wanting to read the Reddit post, the PR is here.
Oh i was talking to the guys on the discord and they found this new PR by the same guy. Basically for the same things i think maybe just reworked. https://github.com/Klipper3d/klipper/pull/6139 It implements coolstep and dcstep. From the looks of it, its also sorta done just needs testing and cleaning up from the author? Im not really familiar with the process of merging pull requests at klipper.
