A SaaS to protect any web page with a password?
There are many services that offer such a functionality. Just search for "password protected link shortener". One example would be https://maglit.me/ by u/NayamAmarshe (I haven't tried it, I only read this post). However if you care for privacy (kind of the point of the whole post) and you have a web server you might want to selfhost the service (has a lot of other advantages as well, link all the easy to remember keywords are still available), which gives you even more options: like again MagLit or YOURLS with the Password Protection Plugin. (disclaimer: I am using a self hosted YOURLS instance myself, but have not used this plugin yet).

Fully self hosted Discord altrenative
Have you looked at https://fosscord.com ?
There's Fosscord which aims to be a FOSS Discord alternative. Otherwise go for Matrix, Mattermost or Rocketchat.
-
Do we have alternatives to discord or its open source clients?
There's Fosscord, which is supposed to be a server and client compatible with Discord. Not sure how far along they are at this point though.

After Slack made it's last pricing change...
I wouldn't recommend Discord as it's mostly unencrypted and not self-hostable, but I really the the features and design of Discord. As an alternative (but sadly not yet releases) I would recommend Fosscord. It's mostly Discord with more features for server owner and encryption.
- Why isnāt it possible to use Discord screensharing with audio without some hacky workaround
-
Are there any kind of Discord type services?
Check out FOSScord https://fosscord.com/ Itās still a WIP but their goal is to essentially clone discord but make it FOSS
-
Valorant will start listening to your voice chat in July.
Thereās an open source alternative to Discord thatās apparently comparable with Discord servers. Itās called Fosscord.
-
Is anyone working on a federated Discord?
Although not written in Rust, Fosscord would be a great self-hosted replacement to Discord. But it's currently in very early stages of development so not yet production ready.
-
Discord support is ignoring requests for appeals
- Fosscord, something thats trying to replicate Discord, open source (their client as of now is just Discord, I recommend) - Matrix, a decentralized federated chat network. - Guilded, owned by Roblox (known for horrendous moderation and support) but overall a good platform. - Telegram, requires a phone number (but takes VOIP), I've used it before. Definite hub for gore/scams but as long as you know what to avoid, it's alright

FYI: Avoid the "Discord Linux" server
I believe you can do it with Fosscord but from my understanding it's not ready yet.
What are some alternatives?
self-hosted - Deploy Revolt using Docker.
matrix-appservice-discord - A bridge between Matrix and Discord.
Synapse - Synapse: Matrix homeserver written in Python/Twisted.
Element - A glossy Matrix collaboration client for the web.
matrix-docker-ansible-deploy - š³ Matrix (An open network for secure, decentralized communication) server setup using Ansible and Docker
cinny - Yet another matrix client
jitsi - Jitsi is an audio/video and chat communicator that supports protocols such as SIP, XMPP/Jabber, IRC and many other useful features.
com.discordapp.Discord
fosscord-server - Fosscord backend made with Typescript and love (and a bit of C++)
fluffychat
matrix-client.el - A Matrix client for Emacs!
fosscord-client - Open source, themeable and extendable discord-compatible native fosscord client
