Launcher VS sodium-fabric

Here is a link to Modloader for MCb173. It needs adding directly into the minecraft.jar file, however if you use a launcher like MultiMC, which you can find here: https://multimc.org/ then there is an option to 'add to minecraft jar file' which does the same thing.

Others than that, if you insist, you can take a look at the launcher which u/reginakinhi provided or find others on the internet (GitHub for example). Since PrismLauncher is written in C++, and if you are not familiar with it, you should see other launcher as well. Or else https://github.com/MultiMC/Launcher is an alternate.

You should try MultiMC. Fantastic launcher that lets you install different versions easily, as well as auto-downloads mods and modpacks without going to another site, or messing with the game files.

Have you tried a third-party launcher? Try MultiMC or go here and get the Windows7/8 alternative launcher, not the recommended launcher

Wow, a reasonable criticism! According to this issue, transparency sorting hasn’t been implemented, and so the behavior is inconsistent. Surprised to see a pull request linked that had fixed it, but was never merged and is now incompatible. Definitely affects users who have farms and stained glass builds though!

The problem with the multithreaded version of Optifine is that OpenGL doesn't officially support multithreading (at least not with older versions of OpenGL; Sodium (for modern versions) uses a "multidraw" function to get up to 10x the FPS but also uses OpenGL 4+, and even then it has issues on many drivers. Note that using such modern features would require a "core profile", precluding the use of all legacy fixed-function methods so the entire renderer would have to be rewritten).

For Minecraft specifically, regardless of hardware and OS, you should be using Sodium and Lithium. These are third-party mods that fix a ton of performance issues - they make a huge impact especially on lower-spec'd machines.

Check out the sodium mod [1], if you haven't already. I've had great success eeking out a few more precious frames with it on older hardware. IIRC, it works on both x86 and ARM processors.
