Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

MathJax – Beautiful and accessible math in all browsers
> Could you elaborate on why you switched away from it?
I started using KaTeX sometime after 2015 because it promised to be fast (the fastest! [1]). I had to change the representation of a bunch of expressions because KaTeX didn't support some environments, whilst MathJax did. It was a trade-off I was willing to accept at the time.
Many years later, I started writing a personal static-site generator. I wanted comparatively lightweight pages, so rendering server-side was an option. I re-evaluated MathJax vs KaTeX again and this time I leaned towards MathJax, as speed was no longer an issue for me. It looks like KaTeX has broader support now [2].

Markup of math expressions using SwiftUI or UIKit - How's it possible?
Another alternative: Create a WebView by using UIViewRepresentable and Webkit together with MathJax or Katex where Katex is the better option. Here is a link to katex: https://katex.org/
-
How do I do this?
If you want to make it from scratch, go with https://www.slatejs.org/examples/richtext, then use something like https://katex.org/ for rendering the LaTeX, and maybe Mathjs.org for plotting.

The fastest math typesetting library for the web
The speed of KaTeX is great, but the lack of support for diagrams (a la tikz-cd) is what makes KaTeX unsuitable for general adoption by mathematicians (e.g., mathoverflow.net and all online mathematical wiki I know use MathJax). KaTeX has some rudimentary support for diagrams though the {CD} environment, but something more fully fledged akin to tizk-cd or xymatrix is needed. There's been some discussion on their github (https://github.com/KaTeX/KaTeX/issues/219), but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Is it possible to add LaTeX commands to a markdown file?
When exporting, you can choose to export and have KeenWrite replace TeX with SVG, or if you have a website that uses KaTeX or MathJax, you can export while leaving the TeX statements alone.

Sile: A Modern Rewrite of TeX
HTML/CSS, with KaTeX loaded to render mathematics using the same notation as (La)TeX.

State of handwriting recognition in LaTeX, need advice
ah, yeah I've heard good things about pandoc and I didn't know latexmk was I thing, I'll probably check that out. Most implementations that use latex for chat or forums or w/e don't support latex (Like Reddit's markdown mode) Also website builders that let you write markdown instead of HTML (Ghost typically don't support it Although I think it would be fairly trivial to compile markdown with katex before running it through the standard markdown parser. If you want a PDF you probably want real latex though

I want LaTeX to both render and not render - how?
This might be a better question for the subreddit for whatever language or framework you’re using to build your website. And you don’t actually specify how you’re doing that either. But something like this comes to mind for ReactJS: https://github.com/zzish/react-latex which is based on this https://github.com/KaTeX/KaTeX

Quick Questions: May 05, 2021
Perhaps try algebra.js, ceres.js, nerdamer.js, or algebrite.js. I'll note that algebrite has an example of polynomial root finding on their front page.
What are some alternatives?
MathJax - Beautiful and accessible math in all browsers
Ceres.js - Ceres.js is a javascript port of the Ceres solver. Ceres Solver is an open source C++ library for modeling and solving large, complicated optimization problems. It can be used to solve Non-linear Least Squares problems with bounds constraints and general unconstrained optimization problems. It is a mature, feature rich, and performant library.
quiver - A modern commutative diagram editor for the web.
Fraction.js - Fraction is a rational numbers library written in JavaScript
num2math - Complicated math expression generator
mathquill - Easily type math in your webapp
ncalc - Power calculator for Android. Solve some problem algebra and calculus.
latex2mathml - Pure Python library for LaTeX to MathML conversion
remark - markdown processor powered by plugins part of the @unifiedjs collective
manim - A community-maintained Python framework for creating mathematical animations.
kramdown - kramdown is a fast, pure Ruby Markdown superset converter, using a strict syntax definition and supporting several common extensions.
