why is UIKit much harder than SwiftUI?
Those of you that prefer UIKit, are you defining layouts programmatically? If so, do you use other tools like Injection to help ease this process?
-
SwiftUI, I love you, you suck.
Good news is you can hot reload the simulator using InjectionIII. It's what the appcode documentation say to use to get a similar experience to previews.

[Beta] Orion: Create tweaks in Swift
It isn't going to be easy, but I do want to try my hand at making one someday. In the meanwhile you might want to check out Echo and InjectionIII for a glimpse into what might be possible.

What changes have occurred in the past three years
Not a ton has changed really ... tweaks can be made in swift with Orion(which is still not in upstream theos yet), a lot of theos bugs have been squashed and few new ones introduced, and, yeah, rootless which is very much a WIP on all sides. I tried to compile some rootless-related info here which may be of some help

[Question] Are there tweaks that modify Telegram?
To the best of my knowledge, Orion is the only framework for Theos that is compatible with Swift, but if you read their description it says: "Orion is not a framework for hooking Swift code. As of now, Orion only supports hooking Objective-C and C code, however this may change in the future."

[Free Release] SpeedrunTime - A tweak to help you run faster to the charger at 1% battery
Written in Swift with Orion.
-
[Free Release] Batterain - An open-source tweak to color the battery icon
Here with another open-source tweak I made with Swift and Orion. It colors the battery icon based on how much battery you have left.
-
[Free Release] MinusX - Brings back the X buttons when deleting apps
I decided to make another open source tweak using Swift and Orion. This one replaces the minus buttons introduced in iOS 14 with the old ones - X. It's just a visual change, so you will still be able to remove the icons from the Home Screen to the App Library.

[Beta] Orion: Create tweaks in Swift
On behalf of the Theos team, I'm delighted to announce Orion, an open-source framework that makes it possible to develop tweaks in Swift! Plus, other changes to Theos as part of the Orion beta will allow you to edit tweaks with full LSP-powered autocomplete in most macOS and Linux editors, including Xcode, Vim, and VSCode.
