Tags no longer register and i've finally had it with galaxy 2.0. Any recommended alternatives?
Heroic Games Launcher: Support is limited to Epic, GOG and Amazon but the advantage is that it can manage their games itself without the need of their own launchers. Doesn't have support for tags currently.

Making the switch - what are the gaps?
For "normal" games you could look yourself using ProtonDB regarding every game released on Steam and AreWeAntiCheatYet for most multiplayer games. If a game isn't available on Steam you have three possibilities. First if it's available on GOG, Epic Games or Amazon Gaming, you could use the Heroic Games Launcher. Second you could try to run the launchers through Steam itself using once again Proton. Third you could try installing it with a script or tutorial in Lutris or Bottles.

I just bought a steam deck for my 15yo’s bday present - now what?
Maybe also look into HeroicGamesLauncher and how to install it, Steam isn't the only platform for gaming and HeroicGamesLauncher help with the following platform: GoG (Good Old Games) and EGS (Epic Game Store).
- According to a survey, only 36% of PC gamers buy games at full price.

For openrazer to function easily, you need additional software. I’ve used Polychromatic.

Hardware Brand
I've tried multiple different brands of keyboards and mice and all of them worked well with Linux, often even if Linux wasn't advertised on the box (I wouldn't bet on that though). More well known brands have better support e.g. Razer has OpenRazer and Polychromatic

Razer blackwidow keyboard backlights
I re-installed open-razer on Ubuntu and also installed Polychromatic.
- OpenRazer/Polychromatic need to be restarted after boot/reboot to work after last Fedora 36 update

While not everyone likes Razer, we all have the F key
The irony is that razer has some of the best software as long as you are not using windows. The community maintained openrazer drivers on Linux work great. https://polychromatic.app/
- Is there any software like this for Windows? Is there anyway to run it on Windows?
What are some alternatives?
lutris - Lutris desktop client
RazerGenie - Qt application for configuring your Razer devices under GNU/Linux.
Playnite - Video game library manager with support for wide range of 3rd party libraries and game emulation support, providing one unified interface for your games.

Rare - GUI for legendary. An Epic Games Launcher open source alternative
OpenRGB
MangoHud - A Vulkan and OpenGL overlay for monitoring FPS, temperatures, CPU/GPU load and more. Discord: https://discordapp.com/invite/Gj5YmBb
razerCommander
Whisky - A modern Wine wrapper for macOS built with SwiftUI
razer-macos - Color effects manager for Razer devices for macOS. Supports High Sierra (10.13) to Monterey (12.0). Made by the community, based on openrazer.
gamemode - Optimise Linux system performance on demand
openrgb.nvim - Bring RGB to life in Neovim
