Also, i recommend you install the CATS blender plugin, it is intended for VRChat avatars, but it can atlas your textures, fix some armeture issues (or cause them) and generally makes humanoid creations easier to make, here’s the download link: https://github.com/GiveMeAllYourCats/cats-blender-plugin

Technical: How do I convert these models for personal use?
Are they MMD models? If so you can get Cats Blender Plugin which was made for porting MMD models into vrchat, which runs off unity. So it's really useful and saves alot of time in blender. Even for actually developing a game I'm pretty sure this will come in handy.

Noob question, do these really matter? Avatar for quest and quick fix won't work, i've done all i can but i dont wanna mess it up and idk how to lower polys or anything. Basically should i just do it anyway? Thanks!

exporting animations?
If you are converting it, it's likely the VRM-named bones are converting too, which renders its old animations useless. If you convert, new animations might need to be assigned. Try using CATS Blender plugin if you haven't already, for reassigning blendshapes.

We seriously need a point system. Can’t have one very poor part just make it instantly very poor
It didn't get much attention earlier, but the Bake panel in Cats will take any avatar and turn it into 1 mesh, 1 material, 32k tris exactly in two clicks (or 5k tris for Quest). I still need to add options to produce multiple seperated meshes/materials for more varied Desktop use, but it's what I use to make my avatar Good-rated.

Mesh exceeds polycount for retopoflow? I downloaded it a few days ago and bummed that it won't work or slow down blender. Has anyone experienced this?

Is this a good way to retopologize? For anyone who's curious, this is the Grand Inquisitor.
I think the best program for this would be RetopoFlow 3. You can buy it here: https://blendermarket.com/products/retopoflow/. You can also get it free here: https://github.com/CGCookie/retopoflow. It's not automatic, but it's capable of really cleaning up models. The free version is released by the same people that make the paid version, you just don't get support from them if you get it from their GitHub instead of buying it.

During retopology, i did all the settings, backface culling, mesh visibility to front also modifiers like shrinkwrap and displacement. but the problem
Use Retopoflow addon. It's free on github. Also in my opinion it's better than Maya's quad draw

The same applies to anything that links to Blender code, including its Python modules. This means the same policy applies to all add-ons. For instance Retopoflow, which is ~$90 if you buy it, can be accessed for free on GitHub with no restrictions
