Marlin for CNC?
I tried to implement Marlin support in my GRBL-Plotter and it was not simple: E.g. Command for position feedback needs to be injected to normal gcode. In grbl an asynchrone '?' delivers the actual position - much more easy... I definetly would go with grbl. https://github.com/svenhb/GRBL-Plotter

However there are many tools available to convert SVG files to G-code, for example https://grbl-plotter.de/ (I have no experience with their software, this was simply the first search result I got).

Pen plotter servo is acting strange

What is the grbl error number? Which grbl-sender do you use? Where comes the GCode from? Did you try other software (e.g. GRBL-Plotter 😊 https://github.com/svenhb/GRBL-Plotter)?
