Applying a tech research cost multiplier to a Seablock run
Using a planner like YAFC, Foreman, Helmod, and Factory Planner is highly recommended. Also, the following mods are recommended for a megabase needed to finish a high-multiplier game:

I would give foremana shot. Great for breaking down those brainmelt recipes

Fresh meat to the grinder
Planning tools/mods come in many shapes and sizes. I personally like Helmod but it took a while to learn it. There is also Factory Planner. Or external tools like Foreman or YAFC.

(Space Exploration) Am I the only one who finds it impossible to plan out a build without a clear visualization of the production chain like this? And why is it impossible to find charts or tools like this?
Adding one more: Foreman
I assume a tool like Foreman which loads Factorio data could theoretically load another game's data if it's converted to Factorio data.

Asking for mods suggestions based on my gameplay preferences.
I would recommend starting with Krastorio 2 or Industrial Revolution 3. Krastorio (the original) isn't currently being developed, and afaik K2 is better. Industrial Revolution 1 and 2 are unavalaiable. Both are great starter overhaul mods, and can be a good way to get into modded games. Some other mods that you might want to check out are MSI II, Warptorio, Seablock, and Space Exploration. MSI II is an expansion of the base game, making it a bit more linear and storylined. Warptorio is vanilla factorio with a fun twist of base management. Seablock and Space Exploration are bigger overhauls, and aren't usually ones that beginners to mods jump into. But they're not the worst out there, and many people have played and enjoy them. I think you would like IR3 and SE the most, based on your preferences. But be sure to search around the factorio mod site to see what peaks your interest.
- Are there any mods for a tiny, invincible base?
-
What video game is an absolute 100/100 in your opinion?
I'm a fan of Sea Block, myself.
-
Endless singleplayer games? Like how you can play a Minecraft world for thousands of hours, never actually running out of things to do.
as a bonus mention: the seablock pack features a LOT of different mods but angelbobs is a critical focus. this is a very unique modpack because you start the game on a tiny island and you're expected to build a vast sprawling base from pretty much nothing but seawater. seriously not for the faint of heart.

Space Exploration vs. Seablock/Bob's & Angel's - Thoughts after finishing both
Seablock is a mod where you start on a tiny island in an ocean and have to expand from there. It is based on Bob's and Angel's mods and adds tons complexity for anything from ore gathering to building items. It also uses the victory condition of the Space Extension Mod (SpaceX) requiring you to launch about 200 rockets.

What is a mod that you think more people should know about?
Maybe I missed it but Renai Transportation is an absolut gem, SeaBlock seems to have been forgotten a bit lately, Cargo Ships is pretty sweet as well.
-
What kind of mods are there that make the game harder with new challenges or progression milestones, rather than making existing challenges harder?
I'm currently playing through "Sea Block"

Seablock Bio-Guide
This is a guide to Seablock. The mod can be found on the mod page here, though for the best experience it is recommended to download it directly as a zip pack with all the correct mods from the homepage here.
