I still use Flash in 2022
I was expecting "Attempt 3" to involve Bluemaxima's Flashpoint, and was surprised not to see it mentioned. Does anyone know why that wouldn't have been an option, or is this essentially what Attempt 1 would have involved?
For anyone not familiar with Flashpoint, it's a project to preserve old flash games and animations and keep them playable on modern platforms. It's open source and includes a huge library (including it looks like Hapland 1-3).

Is there an MPC-HC version for linux?
I know the original project is dead, but forks of it have been maintained by different people, one of which being clsid2, I know there are alternatives to it, and I have tried them; but most of them usually have one or two quirks which I dislike which MPC-HC does straight out of the box.

Seriously Microsoft? I have to pay to play certain video formats? Yes its super cheap, but really it shouldn't cost at all right? To use a default program's intended functionality? Back to VLC I go. What is with this level of attempted monetization?
MPC-HC is still maintained as well, and it's better than BE honestly.
Try Media Player Classic, it technically stop being developed but someone forked it and continues to support it here. It's always played everything I've thrown at it.
