"Auto registration" of docker containers via the API or similar?
I've seen multiple posts that link to the v6 discussion on an API endpoint, but the PR they link to dates from 2019 and doesn't seem to have made much progress in recent months.

Pi-hole REST Api ?
The simple answer is no; there are plans to add an API in the next major version. I have previously used this project to interact with the API however it has since been archived and should be considered as such.
