With 11 (or possibly newer versions of 10, haven't tried lately) this doesn't seem to actually disable MsMpEng.exe from loading anymore. Using something like https://github.com/jbara2002/windows-defender-remover seems to work though.

Or just run https://github.com/jbara2002/windows-defender-remover which is a much more effective way of removing it without installing spyware to do so

What a relief to disable Windows Defender on a 4th gen i5 laptop Feature
I finally found the right tool! (it also disables UAC User Account Control) https://github.com/jbara2002/windows-defender-remover I know i'm at a lot more risk now but i'd rather have some good performance then good security as browsers these days also scan for security threats.

Windows 11: After removing a few bloatware. It's way, way faster & responsive.
First was Chris Titus Tech Windows Utility Second was Windows Defender Remover And third was Sycnex's W10 Debloater

After running like 6 different debloat scripts...700MB of RAM on idle!
For those asking for the scripts, here they are: Remove preinstalled applications Remove preinstalled applications (this one has GUI) Set services to manual (Can also remove applications) Uninstall MS Store Disable Windows Defender As my people in the comments have pointed out, don't run all of them unless you want to break your system later on.
