Is there a place to suggest software you'd like to be on the AUR? If not, let it be here!
an application i use a lot is electronmail, the only problem with it is it's only aur package is a binary that bundles it's own electron. if you could make a package that built it from source and used system electron i would greatly appreciate it!

Has anyone tried to self-host the Proton stack as a redundancy?
It's not self-hosting, but ElectronMail lets you use ProtonMail in an electron app using their frontend code.

[Question] Local e-mail client with encrypted data store for offline retention?
The general go-to recommendation for cross-platform email clients is Mozilla Thunderbird (PrivacyGuides, OpenSource.com). I like to be able to have access to my emails offline and currently, I am using ElectronMail, which encrypts the offline datastore with a password that has be input every time the application is launched (GitHub README.md).

Which is the best Protonmail Desktop client if you are broke and can't pay for premium?
According to https://github.com/vladimiry/ElectronMail/issues/242 it looks like the ProtonMail portion of the UI uses light/dark mode based off your account settings for ProtonMail. So if you select a dark mode theme in your ProtonMail settings it may address that issue.

What email clients are you using with protonmail (except for thunderbird)?
If you only use Protonmail and don't need to connect any other accounts, ProtonClient and ElectronMail are pretty good. Both basically just the web version of PM but you get desktop notifications (PC with mail content; EM just "You've got mail"

Is there a free (as in beer) more "usable" email service than Protonmail?
If you install and use the ElectronMail client to access your ProtonMail account and then enable Local Store for the account, it will save a copy of your emails (encrypted) locally on your desktop.
You don't need to move messages to Thunderbird to search them - you can just press the Search button in Database View mode to search (this GIF shows how), but if you're asking because you're migrating to a different email service or just want to make a backup of your ProtonMail messages in Thunderbird, here's how it's done:

New unofficial Proton client
What would you say be the main thing for me to use your client instead of Electronmail? It does keep your 2FA secret, but all is being saved locally.
- Free alternatives to use with Gmail, Hotmail accounts?

Beta Mail is a different color in Firefox vs Brave
Very often chromium based browser and apps (like my client) suffer from the very unorthodox way of chromium engine to handle color in linux...

OK... I just read your note on GitHub (https://github.com/Steccas/ProtonClient#security-notice-about-this-client)
