School projects
Well, there is https://www.nanoframework.net/ though microbit isn't supported, but ESP32 is

Finally finished my first Github project: a program to screen share your PC to a Arduino driven WS2812B matrix
There's also the .NET nanoFramework. While it's part of the .NET Foundation, it's not sponsored directly by Microsoft. This project uses a slimmed down runtime so it doesn't get all the bells and whistles that Meadow does, but that gives it a bit more flexibility in terms of hardware it can target.

[Question] Is C# a dead language?
even embedded solutions (.NET nanoFramework).

.NET Developer? You're an IoT Developer Too!
Lo and behold, I learned about a couple of frameworks geared towards this scenario: .NET nanoFramework and TinyCLR.

Is dotnet for Iot complete?
Devices like Arduinos, NodeMCUs, Pi Pico, Micro:Bit, etc. There is no OS and no scheduling. The most popular languages in this category are C (and C++) and MicroPython. You have two choices in this category for .NET: nanoframework and Meadow.

C# in embedded?
I recently talked to a developer who has been using a GHI Electronics chip (and sitcore) for a few years now. That same person also had C# running on an STM32 using the .NET Micro Framework (I believe). Similarly, there is the .NET nanoframework.
