  • Can you recommend me some large bg1 content mods that add more quests, zones and companions?

    There's DSotSC - http://www.baldursgatemods.com/forums/index.php?board=146.0 for EE, https://github.com/SpellholdStudios/DSotSC for the Trilogy mods, NTotSC - https://github.com/SpellholdStudios/NTotSC -, SotSC - https://downloads.weaselmods.net/download/shades-of-the-sword-coast -, Balduran's Seatower - https://www.gibberlings3.net/mods/quests/baldurans-seatower and I also suggest Ascalon's Questpack - https://github.com/Gitjas/Ascalons_Questpack .

What are some alternatives?

When comparing EE-Mod-Setup and NTotSC you can also consider the following projects:

EET - Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition Trilogy (EET) is a modification for Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition that merges whole saga into one game and provides continuity between the events of Baldur's Gate, Tales of the Sword Coast, Shadows of Amn, Throne of Bhaal and Siege of Dragonspear expansion (also for both Black Pits adventures). The name of this this modification probably rings a bell to those who have been following IE modding scene, thanks to the classic mod that inspired this project, called Baldur's Gate Trilogy (BGT), developed by Bardez and Ascension64. While EET remains mostly faithful to the premise of the BGT, it shouldn't be considered a direct continuation of that project. In fact both mods share little to no common code and took different design decisions in many aspects.

Ascalons_Questpack - Adds several small quests to BG1 and BGII. For BGT, Tutu, BG:EE, BGII, BGII:EE, and EET.

ProjectInfinity - Project Infinity - a mod manager for Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition, Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition, Planescape Torment Enhanced Edition and Enhanced Edition Trilogy (EET).

BGT-WeiDU - Play the classic Baldur's Gate using the improved Baldur's Gate II engine with continuity between Tales of the Sword Coast, Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal

SwordCoastStratagems - Sword Coast Stratagems (SCS) adds over 130 optional components to Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal, Baldur's Gate Trilogy, mostly focused around improving monster AI and encounter difficulties, but also including cosmetic and ease-of-use components, tweaks to abilities or spells.

Solaufein - Weimer's classic mod changes Solaufein into a joinable NPC for BG2EE and ToB. Revised EE version.

DSotSC - A mod for Baldur's Gate Trilogy and EET

LeUI - lefreut's Enhanced UI for BG1EE, SoD, BG2EE and EET

Tweaks-Anthology - The Tweaks Anthology is a WeiDU compilation of nearly 200 components of cosmetic changes, house rules, and other tweaks. Some of these were fan requests, others are needed changes, and others simply make dealing with the more irritating aspects of the game engine easier. Each component can be installed separately so the player can pick and choose only which ones they wish to install.
