Any drawing software with vim keybinds?
Probably not exactly what you're looking for, but something you might find useful is the DrawIt plugin for vim. You can enter a drawing "mode" and can easily draw lines, arrows, boxes, etc. using either ASCII characters or Unicode line segments. This isn't a replacement for a full UML diagram, but can be handy for things like state diagrams or truth tables in comments.

- Need easy to use note app
- Any Obsidian MD enthusiasts that know if it's possible to convert a FoundryVTT actor to an Obsidian document?
-
Self hosted personal wiki
So not opensource but free and not really a wiki but a note app ( you said you want one, so that's why I am mentioning it ) -> https://obsidian.md/

How do better yourself ?
Overall, I re-read old books, use things like Calibre to create a digital library, and Obsidian to store/record research papers. Try to keep your resources organized and be ok with not being perfect. This field is way too broad to be good at everything, so try to make accessing information/materials simplistic and intuitive so you don’t feel like you're struggling to find answers when you need them.
