Hacking the LG Monitor's EDID
I've recently went down this rabbit hole myself as well and found Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) [1] to be an efficient EDID editor.

Stranger of Paradise - Optimization
Just out of curiosity, I tested an install on my Windows 10 partition. Initially, it didn't even start up and found the culprit to be the display settings in Windows. I was able to run a utility " https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU " and set Windows manually to 1280 x 720. Game opens great! But there was still some issues with the performance.

This was done using Special K and some tweaks explained better in this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/comments/tj8ewr/ive_created_for_stranger_of_paradise_ff_origin/

What are some DON’Ts with a steam deck?
CRU (Custom Resolution Utility) when you apply the bin file below, can allow you to change the refresh rate of the screen on the fly. It will essentially give Windows different profiles for the display which. This can also let you set your preffered refresh rate in a game's settings.

Replace Armory Crate for the tuf A15/F15
not sure, i just used this to overclock: https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU, it depends on what laptop you use, i recommend you to try 160 first and if it works try 180. if t shows a black screen, then wait for it to revert and use 160

Using a PC as a console
I have Lossless Scaling installed to help with getting integer scaling (Useful for games with 2D pixel art where you don't want shimmering or filtering) working, and games where you want to play with different display aspect ratios without using Fullscreen Exclusive or switching resolutions before playing. Just set the games to Windowed mode, and then in my case I press my designated Steam Button Chord to toggle it on (PS+Triangle for me). I personally play first person games in 21:9 on a 16:9 display, or 32:9 on a 21:9 display, due to the smaller screen space and wider FOV making it less motion sickness inducing for me. There's also some extremely problematic PC ports of games that handle fullscreen incorrectly, and stretch/crunch with different aspect ratios rather than letterboxing/pillarboxing correctly, and this tool comes in handy for quickly fixing that. This is the closest thing to a Gamescope equivalent on Windows, and it's quite powerful when paired with CRU (Custom Resolution Utility) for custom resolutions, assuming the game detects available display resolutions correctly.

Tech-Support Thread for Oct 12, 2021: Ask your tech-support questions in this thread please
I was wondering on how to cap fps for a specific game with Lutris? I am using Pop!_OS 21.04 with a GTX 1050Ti. With the NVIDIA drivers version 470.63.01. The game I wanna cap is Assassins Creed: Black Flag to 60 fps. I was looking around and found this project called libstrangle. Is there easier and better way? Or would this be good?
- Limit FPS for all games? (Nvidia GPU)
- The 30 fps target of the Steam Deck refers to a performance floor of what Valve considers playable, with games tested exceeding that. There will also be an optional built-in FPS limiter to fine-tune perf vs. battery life.
