This isn’t specifically what you’re looking for but just an FYI, BlueSocket gives you a fairly typical (in the Unix sense) API around sockets.

I am running socket.io on an Apache server through Python Flask. We're integrating it into an iOS app (using the Socket.IO-Client-Swift library) and we're having a weird issue.

Yeah, I am using https://github.com/socketio/socket.io-client-swift with my Xcode project, and server in nodejs.
