Great list! I especially second the rec for Black Hearts (for non-EET games, it also has a little ToB follow-up, installed via a separate download). It's an absolute delight, and really builds the character of Illasera, who is otherwise completely forgettable in the vanilla game.

What are some alternatives?
bg1ub - Similar to its BG2 cousin, BG1 Unfinished Business ("BG1UB") is designed to restore many of the cut items, quests, dialog, and encounters from the game's final release, as well as try to tie up some of the "loose ends."
Under-Respresented_Items - This mod adds items to Baldur's Gate 2. The items come from Icewind Dale 2. Only certain kinds of items were chosen. Items were selected to flesh out smaller weapon families.
BG1_Romantic_Encounters - A mod for BG1, adding several romantic adventures and also heart-warming quests all over the game.
Almaterias-Restoration-Project - This Baldur's Gate II mod restores things that were in the game but for some reason didn't make the final cut.
CowledMenace - Unravel the mysteries of the Twisted Rune and investigate the Cowled Wizards in this Enhanced Edition Trilogy mod!
