Open source Diablo 1 engine – DevilutionX 1.5.0 released
Ace of Spades is one. I usually play with the OpenSpades client[1], but there is also Betterspades[2], and probably many other clients I don't know of yet. There are usually about 10-50 players online on the public servers listed on BuildAndShoot[3], variable depending on the time of day and mostly from Latin America it seems.
One can host the game with piqueserver[4]. I'm not sure if one can still host with the original Ace of Spades server, but the game was 'shut down' in 2019 so maybe not.

Trying to get Terraria to work ( efficiently )
Clone the GitHub repo I linked (git clone --recursive https://github.com/FNA-XNA/FNA3D) and follow the instructions given in the README on how to build it (you will need to have git, cmake, make, and the the development libs of SDL2 installed).
If you want to look into compiling the latest version of FNA3D and drop it in the games lib64 folder you can even run the game on Vulkan without issues.

Is Monogame still the preferred framework if using Csharp? Anything that utilizes Vulkan available yet?
fna is another popular XNA implementation. They track vulkan renderer progress here and appear to be past "Release Candidate" and are now working on "Vulkan By Default".
