If you would want to make tkinter app a little bit nicer looking you could use theme like this one.

Surprisingly more than ever! There are a few libraries and themes that make it look very good. This one and this one are both amazing

Move to html/css for your interface or for desktop only Tkinter with some new looks. And if you need really complex stuff, there's PySide6.

Easily themable (some great themes here).

Matplotlib or Plotly will give you grafana style plots, the rest of what you want (Buttons, Entry Boxes, Labels) is all in Tkinter! If you don't like the look of tkinter, you can change it with this, this or this. (that last one is my favorite).

Also with the new tkinter themes provided here, tkinter is having a micro-resurgence thanks to its new look.

But I recently found this beautiful theme for ttk and some customizations for tkinter that made me look twice before going to the PySide. If your UI does not need complex interaction, tkinter can look really good.

I have a multi-threaded app using Kivy for the GUI and sometimes need to update the GUI from a background thread. This app is a few years old and I recently updated to Kivy 2.2 and am now getting an exception with the message "Cannot create graphics instruction outside the main Kivy thread" -- which is related to this change in Kivy 2.1: https://github.com/kivy/kivy/pull/7270

I suggest you use kivy which is suitable for the desktop but also has the advantage of being one of few options for creating Python based native(ish) mobile apps (for IoS and Android app stores).

Anyone has some experience with Kivy [1]? It seems that it checks off some of my requirements, like cross-platform, supporting touch interfaces, ease of development, allows complex/fancy UIs as well, etc.

There are hot reload tools like kivy.tools.kviewer and KivyMD HotReload and I think others... but maybe they used something else, hard to tell
