AsusSMC VS OC-little

Depends on model/vendor of your laptop, maybe there is a driver for it. E.g. for ASUS there is AsusSMC.

u/tasco11 said you what you need to do to make FN keys work. I gave you a direct link to the AsusSMC guide that explains what you need to do. You have all the info you need. No one will help you further if you dismiss everything because it "only shows confusing stuff". Read the guides, search, and ask specific questions if you don't understand something.

I'm trying to use the patches supplied by the guide. Tried copy pasting the patch as a new file in MaciASL and it didn't work.

AsusSMC (I followed the DSDT patching steps in the instructions)

Dell-specific DSDTs - Does anyone have a list or repo of up-to-date Dell-related SSDT/DSDT/ACPI files to share? I used https://github.com/daliansky/OC-little and its translated version too but these are very old n irrelevant to my machine. I couldn't get the sleep working using these obsolete/irrelevant DSDTs. Please feel free to share better or new ACPI files if you see some obsolete files in my ACPI folder.

Use patches supplied by the guide and if you can't find what you need there use this repo and in worst case you have to convert those patches found in MaciASL to a separate one manually. Not a big deal if you don't have to do more than 10.

Finishing touches take a little longer when they require custom ACPI patches which has become a lot easier the to repo's like this to take examples from.
