There's software called Al Dente that you can use to set a hard limit on your battery charge at all times. It's what I use in my setup where I use an M1 MBP hooked up to a 4K display with power delivery, so it's basically a Mac Mini when I'm at home. There's a workaround that I have not tested, but given the aforementioned software solutions I consider the hassle unnecessary.

Probably a heat thing. Macs can overheat and introduce these render errors. The trash can Mac Pro was notorious for this. Either slow your render speeds down, or try something like Macs Fan Control to force your fans up while you're rendering. Or both.
annoying fan noise please go away

Macs Fan Control I use this, only for the opposite situation. My fan never makes any noise at all and does not cool the machine when under load, but this app can control the fan any way you’d like to. Lots of options for it and control of the fan.

You can use the Macs fan control to monitor the heat: https://crystalidea.com/macs-fan-control
Is this too old/underpowered for me to boot camp and run windows on it? I already have a different primary MacBook Pro, I wanted to get this for running windows only and occasionally maybe playing Minecraft on it. Thoughts? I have a particular love for the 2015 model design so bit biased there

Check out the Macs Fan Control app. There's a free version that works in Bootcamp.
Does anyone have a good way to keep your MacBook Pro cool? I’ve got a 2019 model and I hate how hot it gets.

Downloading macOS updates. About ready to get the meat out to cook.
1 project | reddit.com/r/MacOS | 27 Sep 2021
Get Macs Fan Control. It'll tell you how hot the CPU really is (which is likely 20+ °C hotter than the case), and gives you the ability to adjust the fan speed so it doesn't cook itself to death. My 13" 2018 MBP likes to sit around 60-70 °C when just watching videos, and 40-50 °C (about what you measured) at idle.

Just install Macs Fan Control and run it at a higher RPM. It works on MacOS and Windows.
