Temperatures inconsistent even after PID tune.
Hello! I just PID tuned my printer because I'm trying to get rid of some layer lines. I tried many things and finally someone suggested that I PID tune my bed. But even after PID tuning the temp varies +-1 which still causes the lines. Some things you should know: my printer(artillery sidewinder X1) does not have eeprom enabled by default. So I flashed a new firmware if that has anything to do with the problem. Also I'm fairly sure that the sidewinder X1 utilizes PID and not bang-bang

Thinking about buying an X1, anything I should know?
Stock firmware does not have M500 (saving settings) and linear advance enabled, these two are definitely worth flashing a custom one. Some come with manual mesh bed levelling or support for bltouch too. 3dprintbeginner got one, but I’m using this https://github.com/pinguinpfleger/ASWX1-FW-MOD - the loop method of upgrade is described there, comes down to running a shell script and resetting the printer till it catches on, might take 15-20 minutes.

Attempted Upgrade Went South
Not of much help now, but you should know that SW X1 firmware can be updated without disassembly using the loop method https://github.com/pinguinpfleger/ASWX1-FW-MOD#2-loop-method - I managed to update the firmware by running it on a raspberry pi zero.
- v4 Firmware Update? Correct link and proper way of installing? Should I change the base?
- Updated firmware, now nothing sticks.

This review of the X1 flags up major safety issues. Those who use an X1, would you consider this a fair review?

Issues with PID settings (Or the thermistor)
Regarding putting the TFT into a different mode, I highly recommend a firmware for the TFT screen itself called RAWR TFT Firmware. It allows you to disconnect the TFT from the mainboard so you can connect to the mainboard via USB. It has many other features that make it worth using, but not having to take apart your printer to disconnect the screen is priceless in my book.

Favourite Firmware for the Genius?
I tried a bunch and ended up using RAWR TFT firmware. It's reliable and fairly configurable.
